Hyundai Accent GL hatchback 1.3i (2003)

With gelifte nose and taut ass Hyundai Accent sends its second phase of life. The 1.3-version maintains the well-known 1.3-liter engine. The five-GL is an amount of 13,095 euros a shining example of great value for money.

The Hyundai has in this embodiment, electric windows, central locking, two air bags and air conditioning. No less than forty percent of the Accent buyers also choose this model because you just get a lot of value. The plastic surgeons have Hyundai of the knife used, however. It was firmly Coupe next to the operating table. Smart that they have looked at that, because that is as far as design is by far the most successful Korean. Especially the front of the Accent is injected with the Coupe DNA. The headlights are slightly higher and have the same sharp line. The thicker bumper and the shape of the grille - although higher than its sporting family - also refer to the Coupe. The back also speaks anymore, the thicker bumper, the less 'soft' shaped light clusters and the bend in the trunk. In short, the Accent looks much better than its predecessor.

In the compact class it is all about value for money. Hyundai has given it to heart. The car grew in all directions. The vehicle occupants are in the length and width, respectively, fifteen and ten millimeters, more Accent at their disposal as compared with the previous model. And, we reported it, in this class we have rarely seen such a well equipped base model. For occupant safety concerns pretensioners with force limiters and two airbags. That today is not really excessive. Now all this time the abundance of storage space for small items. What about two expertly concealed cup holders in the center console storage compartment cup holder in each door and another one in the center console for the rear passengers. When it comes to the number of cup holders per euro than the Accent participates in the highest class. While we think what we will drop our tin, chairs fall. Those are pretty hard, but sit with their sophisticated fit well. On the cover we have to speak less. And in this class we have to do it always with uninspiring materials for the dashboard. Although Hyundai with a metallic colored plastic makes a brave attempt to brighten up the center console.

great American
The four-valve satisfactory. However, if you move slightly, then you better stay off the air conditioner. When we turn to, it seemed as if suddenly an invisible trailer was hung behind the Accent. The gearbox works well and the brakes too, but driving it allows us to disappoint. The control is faded and the suspension too soft. As a result it seems like we are in a heavy American off. Due to soft suspension body is inclined to send out a lot about before the intended route is chosen. While this happens in a split second, but it does not feel good. The Accent would prefer straight. The highway is also more devoted to him. Positively to the soft nature of the Hyundai is that we do many brands of vicious, sharp bumps. Although the Accent captivates us not on the active surface, he is a shining example of great value for money.
