Removing soot filter forbidden by July 2017

49Het removing soot filters in diesel cars is again banned from July 1 next year. Sharon Dijksma State (Infrastructure and Environment) then hopes to have new legislation all the way around, she wrote Tuesday to the House.

Removal of particulate filters is not punishable since early last year. The provision was deleted because it was unsustainable. However, the Department of Dijksma forgot to come up with new legislation. Diesel cars without particle filter are highly polluting the environment.

About 5 to 7 percent of the particulate filter is removed or broken, according to a sample. Dijksma wants to that in the MOT the soot filter is tested.
